State health officials say there’s no reason to panic even though a flesh-eating bacteria is suspected in the death of a Des Moines man. IowaDepartment of Public Health spokesman Kevin Teale (teel) says this ‘Group-A’ strep is very rare although ten people have died from the disease recently in Chicago. 51-year-old Randy Schabaker (SHOB-ik-ur) was hospitalized Sunday and diedlast night of what’s believed to be Group-A strep.Schabaker was worked at the Federal Building in Des Moines and that has prompted concerns from people who may have been in the building. Officials say steps were taken to sanitize the building and it is safe.
