Cyclone Women advance in Big 12 tourney

The Iowa State women used a big second half to down MIssouri 63-44 in the opening round of the Big-12 tournament in Kansas City. The cyclones took command after trailing 27-26 at the half. Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly says defense was the key in the second half. Stacy Frese led the Cyclones with 19-points, Desiree (dez-uh-ray) Francis added 12 and Megan Taylor had ten. Taylor said their was a sense of desperation at the half.The Cyclones connected on 27 of 31 free throw attempts for the game.
