Drake Women host MVC tourney

The Missouri Valley conference post-season womens’ tournament begins today at the Knapp Center in Des Moines. Drake enters as the second-seed and at18-8 overall, coach Lisa Bluder feels her team could get an N-C-A-A bid even if they don’t win the tournament. The Bulldogs take on Creighton in tonight’s opening round. Last Saturday, theBulldogs came from 20-points down in the second half to edge the Lady Jays. The Bulldogs finished 9-0 at home in conference play and Bluder says this is the right year to host the tournament.Northern Iowa is the third seed in the tournament and plays Indiana State in the first round.
