Mason City man gets life sentence in prison

A Mason City man was found guilty today of first degree murder and first degree robbery. Michael Williams was found guilty of shooting Bruce Vercota to death during a robbery at Vercota’s Mason City home. Defense attorneys argued thatsomeone else did the shooting. Two other men will be tried later this month in the same case. Williams will be sentenced to a mandatory life sentence April 2nd.
