Ames High football coach retires

March 11, 1999 By admin

The long-time football coach at Ames High School is stepping down. Kirk Daddow says he is leaving the football field after 17 years. Daddow led Amesto a runner-up finish in the 4-A football playoffs in 1996 and twice led the teams into the semifinals. He will continue teaching at Ames High and says it will be tough once the new season rolls around to not be coaching. Daddow has a record of 106-64. Ames High Athletic Director, Budd Legg says the school has begun a search for Daddow’s successor.
