Arrest made in school bomb threat

An Oelwein man is in custody in connection with a bomb threat last month that cancelled classes in some Northeast Iowa schools. 18-year old RexAllen Miles is accused of calling a radio station February 19th and reporting that a bomb was placed in a Fayette County school and set to explode. Police traced the call to a pay phone at an Oelwein grocery store. Every school in Fayette county was evacuated and searched and some schoolscancelled classes. No bomb was found. Miles is being held in the Oelwein jail pending his initial court appearance.
