Boswell says Pioneer merger deserves scrutiny

March 18, 1999 By admin

Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell says there needs to be some serious questions asked about the merger of Pioneer Hi-bred and DuPont. Boswell wants to know what happens with the research that Pioneer has been known for as an Iowa company. Boswell is a farmer and says it is important to keep an eye on these types of mega-mergers to be sure that competition stays in the industry. Boswell made his comments on a conference call with reporters.
