The Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development says farmers in Iowa and other states need to hang in as the ag slump is going to turn around. J. Brian Atwood says his agency and the United States should hold the course they’ve set over the last few years, which is helping developing countries through foreign assistance programs. Atwood says that helps create markets for American products. Atwood says he isn’t ruling out help from Washington for financially troubled farmers. Atwood spoke Thursday at an Iowa State University conference on international agriculture issues.
