Preston, Jesup claim consolation wins

Fourth ranked Preston claimed the class 1A consolation game with a 56-50 victory over Rock Valley. The game brought an end to the successful coaching career of Rock Valley’s Robert Miller who is retiring after 17-years at the school. Miller finishes his career with more than 350-victories and led the Rockets to state titles in 1996 and 1998. He says it was special to finish his career at the state tournament. Miller directed eight of his teams to the state tournament and says it will always provide special memories.Jesup claimed the class 2A consolation game with a 56-53 win over Fort Dodge St. Edmond. St. Edmond coach Adolph Kochendorfer says a fourth place finish was a great way for his team to end the season.
