Lyman hit a three pointer at the buzzer as the second ranked Mustangs downed top ranked Des Moines Christian 55-52 for the 1A title. Top ranked Iowa Falls won a second straight 2A title with a 66-42 win over ninth ranked Pella Christian. Nick Collison had 25-points to lead the Cadets and says the only down side is that his high school career is over. In class 4A, West Des Moines Valley hopes to conclude an improbable tournament run with a state title. The Tigers edged eighth ranked DubuqueWahlert 49-48 in overtime in the semifinal round. Tiger coach Bill Harris admits he doubted his team would be playing at 8:45 tonight when they openedthe season 3-8. Second ranked Sioux City west held of a furious rally by sixth ranked Marshalltown for a 57-56 victory. The Bobcats trailed by tenwith two minutes remaining before staging the comeback. Kirk Hinrich led West with 21-points and says they were happy to survive.
