ISU women fall short of final four

March 23, 1999 By admin

The Iowa State women’s bid to make it to the final four fell short last night. The Cyclones fell behind by 20 early-on to Georgia in the Mid-EastRegional Final and could only get as close as 10 before losing by the final score of 89-71. Cyclone coach Bill Fennelly says it was a disappointing end to a great season. Iowa State ends the season at 25-8. It was their first trip to the “Sweet Sixteen” and the first time they had advanced to the final eight.
