Businesses would be able to escape paying customers claims if the problemcame from a “millenium bug” the business thought had been fixed if a billwhich cleared the Iowa Senate today becomes law. Senator John Jensen, arepublican from Plainfield, rejected claims that the bill may fuel fears of amillennium melt-down.The bill does NOT give computer hardware, software or equipment businessesthe immunity from Y-2-K lawsuits. It passed the Senate on a 50-to-zerovote.
