Workers at John Deere facilities in Waterloo will get a longer than normalsummer shutdown. A Deere spokesperson says the traditional two-week shut down in late Juneand early July is being extended to four weeks. Deere says the expectedcontinued poor farm economy led to the decision to extend the shutdown.There are 55-hundred Deere workers in Waterloo, which is the only Deereoperation affected by the extended shut down.
