West Des Moines Police are investigating what appears to be a double murderand suicide. Lieutenant Scott Wiegert says officers recieved a 9-1-1 callfrom the home of 46-year old Pamela Donahue early Sunday evening fromDonahue’s son. The boy said his father had a gun and was threatening toshoot someone. He says a neighbor called and said they had heard gunshots.Weigert says the department’s special response team surrounded the house andthen went inside.He says Pam Donahue, Francis Donahue and Helen Jane Rasmussen were all shotto death and they are treating it as a murder suicide. Neighbors say Pamela and Francis Donahue were estranged and in the processof getting a divorce. Wiegert says they’re not releasing any otherinformation until the case can be reviewed by the Polk County Attorney’soffice.
