Governor signs meth fighting bills

A nearly four million dollar plan to fight the methamphetamine epidemic isnow in force. Governor Vilsack signed two anti-meth bills during a mid-dayceremony at a school. Vilsack said Iowa’s never before seen as “evil” a drug as meth.The new law will put someone away for 99 years if they’re convicted ofselling meth to a minor. More drug agents and meth lab clean-up expertswill be hired. More money will be spent on anti-meth education programs andtreatment for meth addicts. Vilsack says the measures won’t solve the methproblem, but will help in the fight.
