Two more counties declared disaster areas

The governor put two more Iowa counties on the list of state disaster areasTuesday.Governor Vilsack put Adams and Taylor counties on the disaster list to goalong with Adair and Union counties for damage done by last weeks tornadoesand severe storms. State emergency management director Ellen Gordon says thedeclaration makes the counties eligible for state aid in cleaning up. Gordon doesn’t anticipate adding any other counties.She says the counties are making progress in cleaning up.Gordon estimates the public and private losses from the storms ateight-million dollars.
