Candidate Gary Bauer says NATO should not send ground troops

Republican presidential hopeful Gary Bauer says U.S. troops should NOT gointo combat in Serbia.Bauer says the United States is already providing 70 percent of the aircraftand munitions used in the NATO bombing campaign.Bauer says President Clinton has gotten us into the conflict withoutexplaining the objectives or a strategy for winning.Bauer says Albanians and Serbs have been fighting with one another since1350.Bauer was a domestic policy advisor to President Reagan and has taken aleave of absence from the Family Policy Council to run for President. He’scampaigning today in Pella and Des Moines. Tomorrow, Bauer makes stops inAdel, Des Moines and Oelwein.
