Spring game leaves ISU QB battle open

The Cardinal team downed the White squad 28-27 as the Iowa State footballteam closed out spring drills on Saturday. Sage Rosenfels had a strong dayat quarterback but coach Dan McCarney says the battle between Rosenfels andDerrick Walker will go into fall drills.McCarney says he was most impressed with the defense.The running back tandem of Darren Davis and Enis Haywood combined for290-yards of rushing. Davis says there is competition for the top spot.Haywood had a 73-yard touchdown run and says whether he is the starter ornot, he will get a chance to contribute.
