Iowa conference softball matchup features national powers

A key Iowa conference doubleheader will be played tomorrow in Indianola astop ranked Simpson hosts ninth ranked Central. Simpson coach HenryChristowski says it matches two of the country’s top teams.Christowksi says while both teams are hoping to make a run at a nationaltitle, an Iowa conference championship is also meaningful.Simpson is unbeaten in league play and leads Central by two games in thestandings.Central coach George Wares says the biggest benefit for both teams is thatthe matchup will provide a national tournament atmosphere.Wares says no matter what happens against Simpson there is plenty of seasonleft.Wares says to win the conference title they need a sweep.
