Council Bluffs man faces charges after chase

A 37-year-old Council Bluffs man faces a variety of charges after leadingIowa State Troopers on a high-speed chase last night through western Iowalast night that ran 35 miles.Jeffrey Wiemer threatened suicide at a truck stop near Adair. He took ofon Interstate 80, hit speeds of 90 miles an hour, had a tire flattened nearAvoca, rammed a patrol car & was eventually stopped. Authorities say hethrew a shotgun & a rifle out the window & waved a handgun at troopers.
