Vilsack signs off on last legislative bills

Governor Tom Vilsack pulled out his pen Thursday and signed the remainingbills on his desk from the recent legislative session. The bills signedinclude measures to increase the quality of child care, require testing fornew teachers and improve the school readiness of kids. Vilsack says alot of good things were accomplished by the legislature.The signings mark the end of Vilsack’s first legislative session as governorafter serving as a legislator.He says he had a pretty good idea what to expect because of his legislativeexperience.With all the bills now signed, Vilsack says he will take the weekend off toattend his son’s graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School.
