Thunderstorms aren’t out of the ordinary for June

A national weather service meteorologist says the constant string ofthunderstorms rumbling across the state is not out of the ordinary for June.Meterologist Jeff Johnson says June has an average daily possibility forthunderstorms of 40 percent. Johnson says Iowa’s stuck in a pattern rightnow that typically hits in June.Johnson says these types of weather patterns don’t usually last all month.He says it looks like the front may break up this weekend.Johnson says the heavy rainfall isn’t out of ordinary either as June is thestate’s wettest month. He says the rainfall shouldn’t be a problem unlessit bucks their forecast and sticks around.Johnson says there has been some drying in between the rains to let some ofthe rivers go down.
