Time to shape up

June 15, 1999 By admin

If you cringe at the thought of wearing a bathing suit or tank top, youaren’t alone. Over half of adult Americans are obese or overweight. Registered dietian Kathryn Thompson says you should cut the amount of foodyou eat — but NOT the nutrients — to create a safe and effective diet.Thompson works for the Midland Dairy Association. She says having healthysnacks throughout the day will help eliminate binge eating at meals.Don’t expect to see results right away. It could take up to 6 months tosee the loss of those pounds. In addition to eating right, don’t deprive yourself of your favorite foods. Going for days without chocolate, ice cream, or potato chips will only leadyou to overeating when you do eat them.
