Insurance commissioner says buy flood insurance

The state Insurance Commissioner is pushing Iowans to buy flood insurance.Many Iowans caught in this spring’s flooding had counted on theirhomeowner’s insurance to help pay for the damage. But Sue Voss with the IowaInsurance Commissioner’s office says most homeowner policies don’t coverflooding. Voss says you need to re-examine whether or not you need floodinsurance. Voss says you aren’t disqualified from getting insurance if you sufferedflooding already.Voss says you can purchase national flood insurance relatively cheaply.
