Barnstormers searching for kicker

Iowa Barnstormer coach John Gregory may wait until the last minute to decidewho will do the place kicking this Saturday when the Barnstormers visitAlbany. The Barnstormers released Steve Opstad after he missed two shortfield goals in a loss at Milwaukee. Eric Meng, who kicked at Iowa and thenat Georgia Southern, and Clay Rush from Missouri Western are two of theplayers battling for the job.Gregory says the coaches had hoped Opstad would shake off his slump but feltthey had to make a move to shore up the kicking game.Gregory says it has been difficult to get a read on the new kickers becausethe Barnstormers have been unable to practice in Veterans Auditorium thisweek.Gregory says the Barnstormers may take two kickers to Albany this weekend.
