A new manual from the University of Northern Iowa shows how cities andorganizatons can recyle material from special festivals. Rick Stinchfieldsays the manual came out of a study of the waste from two festivals inCedar Falls. Stinchfield says they were able to recycle over half of the waste at theSturgis Falls festival and 83-percent at the smaller College Hill ArtsFestival. He says the work shows recycling is possible, but takes time.Stinchfield says recycling at festivals sets a good example for thecommunity. He says it can also save money.Stinchfield says communities can get a manual and advice by calling the IowaFestival Recycling Project at 319-273-7357.
