Lottery hits 3rd highest jackpot

Many people again have visions of turning one dollar into millions as thePowerball jackpot has climbed to a near record level. Iowa Lottery spokesmanJoe Hrdlicka says the jackpot is estimated at 145-million, but that couldincrease.Hrdlicka says its the third highest jackpot.He says the annuity payment ends up being around five-point-eight milliondollars a year for 25 years, while a cash payout would be about half of thejackpot after taxes. Hrdlicka expects powerball sales to be brisk beforetonite’s drawing.The drawing is tonite just before ten o’clock.
