Cedar Rapids couple find pipe bomb

Two good samaritans in Cedar Rapids tried to do the right thing last night,which police say could’ve gotten them killed. The man & woman were walkingwith one of their children when they discovered a pipe bomb. They picked itup and move it into their yard.Police sergeant Mark Andries says if a pipe bomb is found, or anything elsethat looks dangerous, you should NOT try to pick it up.Andries says the device was a “working” pipe bomb that was renderedinoperable by the bomb squad. No arrests have been made.
