Gore offers plan for rural crime fighting

Vice President Al Gore pledged to fight crime in rural America during a stoptoday in rural Waukee.Gore pledges to hire 100 new Drug Enforcement Agency agents to target ruralareas. He also proposes doing away with match money for federal grants usedto hire new police officers for rural communities. And he wants to let ruralcommuities use high-tech computer crime equipment free of charge.
