Top 1A team hits tourney trail

The top-ranked team in Class 1-A begins its tournament trail tonight. Lastyear the Iowa Valley Tigers qualified for the state tourney in the 2-Acategory. This year, in 1-A, they won 13 games in a row heading into theopening round game tonight against English Valley in the quarterfinal.Tigers coach Scott Hardy says it’s nice to get the recognition.Hardy says Iowa Valley will be ready.English Valley was the last team to beat Iowa Valley back in the middle ofJune. Iowa Valley’s district has most of the 12 teams in the South IowaCedar League as part of the district field.
