Fund raisers ride across state

A group of cyclists are making their way across Iowa this week on a specialmission that takes them across the United States.Andy Bembry is a spokesman for the “PUSH America” group that isbiking across the state in what they call the “Journey of Hope.” He saysthe bike ride is an annual event.The ride raises money and awareness of people with disabilities. Bembry saysthe riders do not collect donations on the ride.Bembery says the ride will raise nearly 300-thousand dollars this year. Theriders were in Des Moines Monday and head on to Ames, Marshalltown, CedarRapids and Dubuque.
