Man missing in flooding

Officials believe an elderly north central Iowa man is dead after his car wasswept off the road by floodwaters. The man’s car was recovered yesterday afternoon from a creek in FloydCounty. Eighty-three year old Benton Heights, a resident of the Rudd ManorCare Facility, is still missing. Officials found his checkbook inside thecar. A witness watched helplessly as the man began to drive through deepwater. The witness says the current lifted the car and swept it under.
