Hatch says he can best handle campaign pressure

Republican presidential candidate Orrin Hatch says his 23 years as a UnitedStates Senator better prepares him for the unavoidable campaign gaffes whichHatch says may cripple front-runner George W. Bush.Vice President Gore earlier this year claimed to be the father of theInternet. Hatch says Bush would be hit by the type of criticism leveled atformer Vice President Dan Quayle if he makes a similar campaign gaff. Hatchsays all republican candidates will face the same type of criticism and hesays his experience in the senate makes him better able to handle thesituation.Hatch says Iowa Senator Charles Grassley told him NOT to run. Nevertheless,Hatch is courting Grassley for an endorsement.Hatch campaigned this morning by visiting workers at the Anderson-EricksenDairy in Des Moines.
