Seven foot center commits to ISU

One of the nation’s most sought after centers has given a verbal committmentto play basketball at Iowa State. Seven-footer Ernest Brown played lastseason at Mesa Community College in Arizona and finished first in the nationin rebounding and ninth in scoring. He transfered to Indian Hills in Ottumwafollowing the season and decided to commit to I-S-U after visting the campuson Sunday. Brown says he has been impressed with coach Larry Eustachy.Brown played at Mesa with incoming Cyclone recruit Thomas Watkins.Indian Hills coach Mike Marquis says Brown will be an noustanding additionto the Cyclones for the 2000-2001 season.Marquis says Brown will be a good addition to his team which will be insearch of a fourth straight national junior college championship nextseason. Brown is a native of New York City.
