College football coaches getting ready for season

The players have not reported yet but the college football season hasunofficially started as coaches begin their pre-season meetings. Iowa Statecoaches reported for work on Monday and head coach Dan McCarney says therenever really was an off season.McCarney says the off season workouts have made his team bigger, faster andstronger.After Spring practice, Maquoketa junior Sage Rosenfels and junior collegetransfer Derrick Walker were battling for the starting spot at quarterback.McCarney says the race remains wide open.Incoming freshmen and junior college transfers report on August eighth.
