Governor sends letter to Iowa school kids

Iowa school kids are getting a letter from the Governor this week. The letter tries to ease fears planted by school shootings and bomb threats.Governor Tom Vilsack and Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson signed theletter which welcomes kids back to another school year — and notes thatadults are quote — trying to make sure you have a safe place to learn. Theletter tells the kids the state’s top leaders are counting on them to builda community in their school that’s safe, fair and open and that includeseveryone. The letter closes by urging kids to “Be kind.” and “Be honest”and it thanks them for playing hard and working hard.
