Farmer organizes forum to talk about farm crisis

A western Iowa farmer has organized a meeting tonight to let farmers blowoff steam about the farm crisis. Bruce Brauck (brook) farms near Erwin inShelby County, about 25 miles southeast of Denison, and he’s worried aboutrecent farmer suicides.That’s why Brauck organized tonight’s meeting for area farmers so they cantalk and get some stress counseling.Staff from the Iowa Concerns Hotline will be on hand and a local counselorand a priest will attend.Tonight’s meeting will be held in the Erwin Community Building. The ShelbyCounty Cattlemen’s Association will serve a meal at 6:30 p.m., with themeeting to follow.
