Former Northern Iowa star Joey Woody burst on to the national scene a yearago in the 400 hurdles. Tomorrow, he looks to win a world championship.Woody won his semifinal heat in the 400 hurdles on Wednesday in a time of48.55 and will run in Friday’s final at the World Track and FieldChampionships in Seville, Spain. Woody says outside of the Olympics, thereis no other event he would rather win.Woody says while he’s a long way from home, he does have supporters with him,including U-N-I coach Chris Bucknam.Woody is excited to get a chance to compete on national television.Also tomorrow, former Drake standout Kevin Little competes in the final ofthe 200 meters.
