It’s football showdown night in Iowa City

High school football action across the state tonight is highlighted by aone versus two matchup in class 4A as top ranked Iowa City West visitssecond ranked Iowa City High. The two teams have won five of the last six state titles in class 4A. City High coach Larry Brown says the LittleHawks offense has been inconsistent but the defense has lived up toexpectations.Brown says West quarterback Kevin Long is one of the best he has ever seenin the state. He says Long can run and pass and is a good leader.Brown says they try to approach this game as they do all games.In class A, 7th ranked River Valley visits ninth ranked Newell-Fonda. RiverValley coach Bill Mathers says there is nothing better than a big gameatmosphere.He says Newell-Fonda’s speed is their primary concern.
