Church groups quiz candidates on global warming

A coalition of protestant churches is guaging presidential candidates’attitudes about global warming. Robert Hogg, a lawyer from Cedar Rapids, isthe “Global Warming project coordinator” for the Ecumenical Ministries ofIowa.Last week, Hogg sent questionnaires to all the presidential candidates,asking for answers to questions about policies which seek to curb globalwarming. None have returned the questionnaire yet, but Hogg has some ideawhere each stands. He says he’s encouraged by some of the comments fromcandidates.Ecumenical Ministries of Iowa will host a meeting October 16th in Ames todiscuss the candidates’ views on global warming.The Ecumenical Ministries of Iowa is made up of Baptists, Disciples ofChrist, the Church of the Brethern, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians,the Reformed Church, Mormons, Christians, and Methodists.
