Conference focuses on diversity

Immigration is the focus of the Statewide Diversity Conference next week inDes Moines. (Oct 5-6) Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson says the conferenceis important, because without immigration, Iowa wouldn’t have grown in thelast decade. This is the first time the conference has declared a theme, and Pedersonbelieves this topic is relavent to all aspects of Iowa life.Pederson says everyone is welcome to attend the sixth annual conferenceso they can learn more about the effects of diversity.The conference runs October 5th and 6th at the Polk County ConventionComplex in Des Moines.
