Cedar Falls Public Safety Director to leave

The controversial director of the Cedar Falls Public Safety Department isleaving. Jay Kohl is leaving November 1st to become the public safety director atRutgers University in New Jersey. Kohl came to Cedar Falls in 1997 tooversee the operation of the police and fire departments. Kohl had at timesbeen at odds with firefighters and policemen. Citizens packed a forum inAugust to talk about the public safety department.
