Record lows creep across the state

Many Iowans may be wondering if we’ve skipped fall & headed straight intowinter. Several Iowa cities tied or broke low temperature records early thismorning. Des Moines, Lamoni , Mason City, Ottumwa and Waterloo all hitrecord lows.National Weather Service meteorologist Frank Boksa says Iowa’s weather willsoon be returning to normal, with highs approaching the 70s later in theweek.Boksa says much of the upper third of Iowa saw flurries over the weekend,with up to a half-inch accumulation in the town of Britt.This morning’s low temperatures were about 20 degrees below normal.
