Fellow Senator proposes naming building for Tom Harkin

A major federal government agency in Atlanta would be renamed for an IowaSenator under a proposal offered by a democrat Senator from Hawaii. Underthe plan, it’d become the Thomas R-Harkin Centers for Disease Control &Prevention. Senator Harkin says he was dumbfounded by the gesture.Besides the Harkin C-D-C, Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye (in-NO-way) alsowants to rename the National Library of Medicine after Pennsylvania SenatorArlen Specter to honor “the work of these men on behalf of health care.”Harkin says he’s surprised and flattered by the proposal.The proprosal is still in its early stages and would need to cross manyhurdles before the C-D-C becomes the Harkin C-D-C.
