Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer says he’s the “conservativealternative” to front-runner George W. Bush — and Bauer says he’s got themoney muscle to compete.Bauer is fighting the momentum Bush has acquired with that Bush bankroll ofover 50-million dollars.Bauer’s campaign is third in fundraising and says he feels he can becompetitive financially.Bauer made his comments during a news conference in Des Moines. Former IowaRepublican party co-chair Gopal Krishna is Bauer’s state chairman. Democratpresidential candidate Bill Bradley today announced a handful of Iowans willserve as co-chairs of his Iowa effort, including state representative PamJochum of Dubuque.
