Hotline helps track car problems

Does your car have a wobbly wheel or loose seatbelt? If so, you might wantto call the U.S. Department of Transportation’s auto safety hotline. TheIowa Department of Transportation is helping publicize the hotline. D-O-Tspokeswoman Dena Gray-Fisher says you can call if your car has a defect.Gray-Fisher says the hotline is an important way to get dangerous cars andtrucks off the road as the D-O-T investigates after finding severalcomplaints about the same problem. She says the investigation could lead toa recall. The toll free hotline number is 888-DASH-2-DOT or 888-327-4236.
