Study shows farmers of the 1980’s recovered financially/psychologically

An Iowa State University study could give hope to farm families strugglingwith the current farm crisis. I-S-U Sociologist Fred Lorenz studied how wellfamilies recovered financially from the farm crisis of the 1980’s. The majority of the families were able to recover financially from theproblems of the 1980’s. Lorenz also explored the emotional health of thefamilies and found they were able to overcome the trauma.He says the study offers hope for farmers hit hard by the latest farmcrisis. Lorenz hopes the study will prompt families under stress now to seek outhelp.
