Albia host victorian stroll

November 4, 1999 By admin

The historic southeastern Iowa town of Albia is hosting a Victorian Stroll later today along with a host of other holiday events. The theme is “Christmas Around the World” as more than 60 storefronts feature what are being called “living” Christmas cards.Cindy Reed-Shull, director of the Monroe County Tourism Bureau, says the town of Albia is holding the majority of its holiday events in the traditional town square, which may resemble something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Reed-Shull says the event is called the “Victorian Stroll” for a good reason, as Albia is well-known for its preservation of Victorian-style homes and other structures. For more information on the Stroll or other events, call (515) 932-3319.
