Cresco airport expansion approved

November 9, 1999 By admin

The Howard County Board of Supervisors today reversed an earlier decision and unanimously approved the two-million dollar expansion of the Cresco Airport. The expansion has been hotly debated for over a year, as some landowners in the area were opposed to the expansion. The Featherlite Incorporated trailor manufacturing company has pushed the expansion, saying it will allow them to add 200 new jobs. Featherlite President Conrad Clement says the expansion will help all of northeast Iowa. The expansion is tentativly set to begin next year.
