The proposed “Iowa Hall of Pride” may be headed back to Boone. Backers hoped to build the exhibition hall to honor Iowa high schoolers near the capitol in Des Moines but couldn’t raise enough cash for the project. Jack Lashier of the Iowa High School Athletic Association says organizers haven’t made any final decisions.Original plans called for a seven-point-eight million dollar building on the Association’s property in Boone — and that’s being reconsidered. The association’s “Board of Control” meets in early December and will vote on how proceed. Lashier says between now and then, he’ll be contacting the people who pledged the five-million dollars for the proposed Des Moines building. The proposed “Hall of Pride” ran into some opposition from lawmakers concerned it would be too close to the state capitol.
